Atom

(Intel)

Problem.

Intel needed a name that would be applied to small, portable devices as a part of a line extension to their Centino brand. The name needed to communicate both a much smaller form factor, as well as support messaging around the idea of always being connected.

Solution.

The brand name Atom had relevant and strong scientific and technical connotations, and the short, four letter word further differentiated the product from its predecessors in regards to its small size and light weight.
